Here at River Valley we like to wrap up of the golf season the best way we know how, a month of tournaments. That’s right, every Sunday in October we host our annual Chilli Opens. Due to popular demand, we have also decided to prepare more tournaments into November if weather allows us to continue the fun! Each week there will be a different 4 person format with a homemade chili dinner following. To increase the fun of these tournaments, we also add hole contests each week. We would like to invite everyone to get their teams together and sign up for one or all of these great outings. To help with the check-in process for the large group size, we are asking to prepay at the $45 rate. Those choosing to pay at check-in, will be $50. We look forward to having you all out soon to join in the fun!

Lone Ball Scramble
Each hole will have 1 team member playing their own ball while the others play a 3-person scramble. The 3-person scramble players will each hit, pick the best shot, and hit again from there. The single player each hole will be rotated based on how names are entered on the scorecard. Both scores are added together to make the day a double par round.
This is a 4-person event where 6 holes are played as a scramble, 6 holes as a best score, and 6 holes of alternate shot. In a Scramble format each person will tee off and you will select the best shot. Continue this process until the ball is holed. In a Best Score format everyone will play their own ball. The team will record the best score. In our Alternate Shot format you will pair up, so you will have 2-twosomes. All players will tee off, and the separate 2-somes will alternate from the chosen tee shot. The best 2-some score will be used for the team score.
Poor Man’s Scramble
This format is a fun twist on a regular 4-person Scramble. Again, in a Scramble, each person will tee off and you will select the best shot. The team plays from that spot, and continues this process until the ball is holed. The twist with this format is the theory that you were only able to afford 2 clubs and a putter, so that is all you get to play with! You pick TWO clubs to take with your putter and play a team scramble. Clubs are not to be shared between the team members, so come up with a strategy to spread the club choices accordingly!
Misery & Bliss Scramble
This is a 4-person scramble with a twist on the course setup. Everyone on the team will tee off and you will select the best shot. The team plays from this spot, and this process is continued each stroke until the ball is holed. Our Front 9 will be The Bliss side of the course and, our Back 9 will be The Misery side of the course! Our Bliss side will consist of everyone playing from the Forward Tees and we will do some fun things to make for easy pins. Our Misery side is the opposite with some very difficult pins and everyone will be playing from the Back Tees.
8″ Cup Scramble
This is another 4-person scramble with a BIG twist on the course. Everyone on the team will tee off and you will select the best shot. The team plays from this spot, and the process is continued each stroke until the ball is holed. On the greens, we will have 8” cups to aid in some lower scores.
“Bonus” Blind Scramble
Our bonus scramble is going to be a bit of a shake up! We are going to be playing a Regular 4-person Scramble with some fun changes sprinkled in. Everyone on the team will tee off and you will select the best shot. The team plays from this spot, and the process is continued each stroke until the ball is holed. I will select specific holes that I will be scoring for the total score. You and your players will not know which holes I am choosing until after the round. We will also be sprinkling in some fun “misery & bliss” additions to the course setup! Should be a fun day to finish up a great run of outings!
