Here at River Valley we like to wrap up of the golf season the best way we know how, a month of tournaments. That’s right, every Sunday in October we host our annual Chilli Opens.  Each week there will be a different 4 person format with a homemade chili dinner following. To increase the fun of these tournaments, we also add hole contests each week. We would like to invite everyone to get their teams together and sign up for one or all of these great outings.  To help with the check-in process we are asking that you prepay for your whole team when you sign up.  We look forward to having you all out soon to join in the fun!

Format Descriptions

Lone Ball Scramble

Each hole will have 1 team member playing their own ball while the others play a 3-person scramble.  The 3-person scramble players will each hit, pick the best shot, and hit again from there.  The single player each hole will be rotated based on how names are entered on the scorecard.  Both scores are added together to make the day a double par round.

Devils 666

This is a 4-person event where 6 holes are played as a scramble, 6 holes as a best score, and 6 holes of alternate shot.  In a Scramble format each person will tee off and you will select the best shot.  Continue this process until the ball is holed.  In a Best Score format everyone will play their own ball.  The team will record the best score.  In our Alternate Shot format you will pair up, so you will have 2-twosomes.  All players will tee off, and the separate 2-somes will alternate from the chosen tee shot.  The best 2-some score will be used for the team score.

Fore Club Scramble

This format is a fun twist on a 4-person scramble.  The round is played like a regular scramble, but the twist is that each player must only use 3 clubs and their putter for the entire round.  Clubs cannot be shared within the team, and must be the only clubs in your bag at the start of the round.  This fun format gets you thinking about your best clubs and calls for some strategy within your team!

2-Person Scramble

This year we are switching it up and mixing in a 2-Person Scramble! The format is as simple as it sounds… Tee off, pick the best shot between you and your partner, hit again, and repeat until the ball is holed! The registration link is just for your team of two, but you will be able to request another team to play with. We will do our best to get you paired up, so grab your partner and sign up!

8″ Cup Scramble

This is another 4-person scramble with a BIG twist on the course.  Everyone on the team will tee off and you will select the best shot.  The team plays from this spot, and the process is continued each stroke until the ball is holed.  On the greens, we will have 8” cups to aid in some lower scores.
